Lilium Stargazer (the 'Stargazer lily') is a hybrid lily of the 'Oriental group'. Oriental lilies are known for their fragrant perfume, and large flowers (typically six inches or more across). They bloom in mid-late summer, and reach a height of 18-36 inches, with strong stalks/stems.
The Stargazer lily was created in 1974 by Leslie Woodriff, a lily breeder in California. Woodriff named them Stargazer, because the blooms face towards the sky, rather than down like previous breeds.
Stargazers look great in a garden, or a vase, and they attract butterflies, hummingbirds, and other pollinators.
